Seven things I will hold to.

These are the six on the front page, with what each one actually means. If any of them stops being true while you are with me, tell me on the day and I will fix it. If I cannot, I will take it off the bill.

   Trusted

   The same guide from the first email to the last drop-off. No handover, no subcontractor, and no different face on day four.

   You deal with me from the enquiry through to the airport. Nobody else reads your emails, nobody else plans your days, and nobody else drives.

2. 02

   Safety

   A full passenger service licence, a P endorsement, and a Certificate of Fitness on the vehicle. Every road on your itinerary is one I have driven before.

   The vehicle is inspected on the schedule a passenger service vehicle requires, not the one a private car does. I carry a first aid kit and a personal locator beacon on any day that leaves cellphone coverage.

3. 03

   Unique

   Places I go because I know the people there, not because a coach can park outside.

   Some of what we do is not on a map, and some of it depends on who is home. That is the trade: less predictable than a bus tour, and the reason you would book one of these instead.

4. 04

   Authentic

   No staged welcomes and no commission stops. You meet the people I would introduce you to if you were a friend visiting.

   I take no commission from any shop, gallery, winery or operator. If we stop somewhere, it is because it is worth stopping, and the price you pay is not quietly funding a kickback.

5. 05

   Tailor made

   Every fixed tour is a starting point. Say what you would rather do and we move it, including on the morning.

   Weather, energy and mood all change what a good day looks like. Nothing in an itinerary is a commitment you have made to me.

6. 06

   Fixed or flexible

   Take a route as it stands, or start from a blank week. Both cost the same to plan, which is nothing.

   I do not charge a planning or consultation fee, and there is no deposit until we have agreed the actual days.
